Pyxis Nautica is inspired by the constellation Pyxis, also known as Pyxis Nautica, which means "mariner’s compass" in Latin. This constellation symbolizes navigation, precision, and reliability - the core values of our business. Pyxis is a small constellation in the southern sky, discovered in the 18th century by French astronomer Nicolas-Louis de Lacaille, representing the magnetic compass used by sailors.
Pyxis Nautica was launched as a small family business when the founders, Petra and Matija, decided a decade ago to turn their love for the sea, sailing, and boats, along with years of experience working in various nautical sector companies, into a wonderful business story. Petra, a former sailor with a degree in public relations, always found her way back to the sea.
Matija, a top-notch technician for all types of vessels, an experienced sailor, and participant in numerous regattas, sailed across the Atlantic in 2019. His passion for diving and sea rescue further enriches our services.
